It sounds crazy but it's true that people know how to turn ON a computer by pressing 'Power Button' but many don't know exactly how to turn OFF it. They generally use the traditional method of 'SHUT DOWN' (Alt + F4). But there are other options available like Sleep and Hibernate. Sleep is used to keep the computer sleep for sometime. In sleep mode, a less amount of battery power is consumed. The advantages of sleep mode from shut down is, no need to close the working programs and the computer starts immediately when it is turned on.
And the second one is Hibernate. Generally this is the option used by most of the experienced users. The advantages of hibernation is, no power is consumed and computer starts fastly with the working programs turned on. If you use hibernation no need close the programs which you use frequently.
Finally the best method is Shut down occasionally that means after one or two weeks and use Hibernate daily.
You can't find hibernate option in Windows 8/10 initially so you have to add it. Just follow below post:
